Experimenting with Colour

Task: "Using the geometrical shapes in the net I utilised for the final version of my continued 3D staircase in my experimenting with form task, I wanted to develop a 2D piece. In this piece I wanted to create a 3D illusion, and for that I needed to make sure to choose the right colours. I knew that to make a particular shapes stand out I should use contrasting colours and for the shapes that I wanted to pair up as a unit I should use complementary colours.Having studied the colour wheel, I chose to work with different values of blue and different values orange. In order to make the whole piece a unit, I added white to all the shades. From my four experiments, I decided on the final one as the most 3D looking."
