Background Information:
I derived this work from this picture I took of St. Paul's Cathedral in my photography task.
Process:
⇨ ⇨
Technique:
1)Using a projector, I outlined the picture of the building onto the paper using black chalk.
2)I then filled in the remaining details with white chalk.
3)Finally, to highlight the form and characteristics of Baroque buildings,I outlined the main lines with ink, letting some of it drop down in order to create a theatrical effect.
1 Final Work:
Facade of St. Paul's Cathedral. Using chalk and ink on brown paper.
Personal Comment: "The dropping ink transforms my image and adds a dramatic effect. It was used to symbolize two things: the iconic rainy weather of London and the effects of time. This piece of work represents the way old architecture is crumbling, but it is still standing."
